Basic Skills
Basic Skills and Manners class is designed for dogs that need to learn some basic skills such as coming when called, sitting when greeting people, stays, etc. Basic Skills and Manners is perfect for dogs of any age. Dogs and their people will learn basic skills in the distractions of the classroom.
Puppies must have 2 shots before the first class. Classes are being held at the Cooper's Centre, 8th and Halston.
**These group classes are not appropriate for dogs with issues of extreme fearfulness, reactivity or aggression. Contact us before you register if you have any questions about your dog's suitability for group classes.
COVID RESTRICTIONS: Masks are optional, but please bring one with you in case the instructor needs to work in close proximity with you. Our COVID policy may change if the Ministry of Health changes it's policy. Also, you must stay home if you have COVID symptoms or have tested positive for COVID.

What we do in Basic Skills
These skills will be introduced:
- Train sit with distractions
- Train polite greeting (no jumping)
- Train down and down/stays
- Train a hand touch
- Reliable recalls! Lots of work on this.
- Loose leash walking skills
- Teach our dogs how to behave appropriately in a class situation
- Improve our marking and rewarding skills (including reducing/fading rewards)
Basic Skills is not being offered at this time.
